As we continue through October, we turn our attention to one of the greatest gifts God gives His church—faithful pastors and staff who shepherd, teach, lead, and serve with the heart of Christ. Scripture reminds us that spiritual leaders are placed among us by God Himself, and their calling is both weighty and sacred. Because of this, the church is commanded not only to honor them, but to pray diligently for their strength, protection, and faithfulness.
Through this guide, we will be encouraged to:
thank God for the pastor and leaders He has placed in our church,
pray for their wisdom, integrity, and spiritual protection,
support their calling with humility and love,
encourage their preaching and teaching of God’s Word, and
express genuine gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
As you walk through each Scripture and prayer prompt, allow your heart to grow in appreciation for those who lead our congregation. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you strengthen their hands, uphold their calling, and contribute to their joy in ministry.
A praying church is a powerful church—and one of the greatest kindnesses we can offer our pastor and staff is faithful, intentional prayer.

Prayer Prompt: Lord, thank you for my pastor, who you placed in our church. Please give him the wisdom and strength to be a man after your own heat so he can lead like Jesus.
Reflect: A faithful pastor is a gift from God, and we should honor and support his leadership. How can you better honor your pastor and support his leadership?

Reflect: A pastor’s primary role is to teach God’s word, and we should pray for our pastor’s effectiveness in communicating the scriptures to the church family. How can you support your pastor’s preaching efforts?
